What you're actually getting
For under £14, this is a floating solar pump with a 3.5W panel and six swappable nozzle heads. You drop it in a bowl, a small pond, a half-barrel planter, whatever you've got. Direct sunlight hits it, water starts moving. No cables, no electrician, no faff.
I'll be honest with you: the spray height is not going to impress anyone with a proper garden feature. In decent August sun it'll push water up maybe 30 to 40cm depending on which nozzle you use. Cloudy day? It slows right down or stops entirely. That's just physics, not a flaw.
Who this actually suits
This is for someone with a small patio setup, maybe a ceramic pot or a wildlife pond they want to oxygenate a bit. My neighbour stuck one in a stone trough she uses as a bird bath and the birds absolutely love the movement. That's the sweet spot for this thing.
If you're imagining a centrepiece fountain for a large garden, mate, look elsewhere. This isn't that.
The honest reservations
Build quality is fine for the price, but fine is doing some heavy lifting there. The plastic feels light. Long-term durability through a British winter is genuinely unknown, and at this price point I wouldn't expect miracles on that front either.
Also no battery backup, so it only runs when the sun does. Worth knowing before you buy.
For £13.69 though, it's a genuinely pleasant little addition to a small outdoor space. Low commitment, zero installation, and oddly satisfying to watch on a sunny afternoon.
