The thing about Turkish Delight
Fry's Turkish Delight is one of those sweets with a deeply specific fan base. If you know, you know. The dark chocolate shell, the soft rose-flavoured jelly inside, that slightly powdery finish. My gran used to keep a bar in her coat pocket, and honestly the smell of one still takes me straight back to being eight years old on a cold afternoon.
It is not for everyone. The rose flavour is polarising, full stop. If you are the sort who thinks floral anything belongs in a bathroom, skip it. But if you have even a passing fondness for it, three bars for under a quid is a proper good shout.
Who should actually buy this
This is a deal for a few types of people. The nostalgic buyer who wants a chocolate bar that feels like 1994. Anyone who does a regular Subscribe and Save shop and can fold it in cheaply. And honestly, anyone who wants a lighter chocolate bar that is not loaded with caramel or biscuit.
It is worth noting the bars are 51g each, which is a decent size. Not a fun-size afterthought.
One honest reservation
The Subscribe and Save price drops it to 85p, which is where the real value is. The standard 95p is still not half bad, but if you are buying it once and forgetting about it, you are leaving a few pence on the table. Minor gripe, but worth knowing before you click.
