What you actually get
It's a 70cl bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label, 40% ABV, and tucked in alongside it: a jigger and a stirrer. That's the lot. No shaker, no mixing glass, no recipe card. If you're picturing some fancy bartender's toolkit, rein it in.
The whisky itself is decent. Black Label has always been a solid everyday Scotch, smoky enough to be interesting, smooth enough that you're not wincing. Personally, I'd happily pour it neat. But the cocktail angle makes sense here too. A Rob Roy, a Rusty Nail, a simple Highball with good ice and a bit of ginger ale. Nothing complicated.
Who this is actually for
Honestly, this feels like it's aimed at someone buying a gift rather than a serious home bartender. The jigger is fine, nothing special, but it does the job. The stirrer is the kind of thing you'd find rattling around a kitchen drawer two years later.
If you already own bar kit, you don't need this version specifically. Just buy the bottle on its own, it'll likely be cheaper. But if you're getting this for someone who's just started making cocktails at home, or want a tidy present that says "have a proper drink", it works.
One honest reservation
There's no listed discount here. No "was" price. So you're paying for the bundle and hoping the kit justifies the premium over a standard bottle. Check what plain Black Label 70cl is going for before you commit. If the gap is more than a couple of quid, think twice.
