What you're actually getting

Kind Bars are those chunky, nut-heavy snack bars you've probably spotted next to the checkout at Boots or Whole Foods. The maple pecan almond version is one of their better ones, honestly. You can see the whole nuts sitting in the bar, which sounds like a small thing but it matters. It tastes like something made in a kitchen, not a lab.

Gluten free, no artificial colours, no preservatives. That's not marketing fluff either, you can actually taste the difference compared to some of the more processed snack bars out there. The maple is subtle rather than sickly, which I appreciated.

Who this is actually for

If you're the kind of person who grabs a cereal bar mid-afternoon because you've not had lunch and you're starting to make bad decisions, this is a solid swap. Also decent for hiking, long drives, or keeping in your desk drawer for when the 3pm wall hits.

Not for kids expecting something sweet and soft. These are firm, nut-forward bars. One of my colleagues bit into one expecting a soft Tracker bar and was mildly offended.

A small reservation

The price sits at just under six quid for 12 bars. That's roughly 49p a bar, which is fair but not cheap. You're paying for the cleaner ingredients and you do get what you pay for. Just don't expect a bargain bin snack experience.

For regular snackers who want something that doesn't read like a chemistry experiment, these are proper good.
