Black heads, same clean?
Personally, I was a bit sceptical when Oral-B started releasing these in black. It feels like a cosmetic choice more than anything else. And look, it mostly is. The bristle pattern, the Cross Action angle at 16 degrees, the compatibility with pretty much every Oral-B handle going back years - none of that changes. What you get is a head that looks a bit sleeker sitting on your bathroom shelf, and one that hides staining from toothpaste a little better than the white versions. Small thing, but if you share a bathroom and care about that sort of detail, fair enough.
Who actually needs these
If you already own an Oral-B electric toothbrush, this is a no-brainer restock. Dentists generally say swap your head every three months, and a 4-pack covers you for a full year. The Cross Action design does a decent job on plaque around the gumline, which is where most people are lazy with a manual brush anyway. I noticed my teeth feeling properly clean after switching from a worn-out head, which sounds obvious but it is easy to forget how much a fresh head matters.
Not for you if you use a Philips Sonicare, obviously - different fitting entirely. And if you are after whitening-specific heads, these are not that.
One honest reservation
The community heat on HotUKDeals is real, but there is no listed was-price here, so it is hard to say definitively this is a bargain versus the usual going rate. Check the price history before committing to a big multipack order. At under eight quid for four, it is not half bad regardless.
