The problem they solve (and it's a real one)
Most kitchen worktops are in shadow. Your overhead light hits the middle of the room and leaves the counters looking like a noir film set. These little LED bars slot under your cupboards and fix that. Simple idea, cheap execution, and honestly that's fine for what it is.
At under six quid for two, you're not buying Philips Hue. You're buying functional. The 6500K colour temperature is cool white, almost clinical, which works brilliantly for food prep but might feel a bit harsh in a cosy kitchen. Worth knowing before you stick them up.
What you're actually getting
Seventy-eight LEDs per bar is a reasonable count at this size. They're USB or battery powered (check the listing variant), which means no electrician, no faff. My mate stuck a similar set under his kitchen shelf using the included sticky tape and they've held for months. That said, the adhesive on budget lights is always a gamble, so a couple of extra strips or command strips nearby is not a bad shout.
The build quality is plastic, obviously. They feel light in the hand. But they light up properly, they don't flicker, and for a dark corner above the hob or behind the kettle, they do the job.
Who should bother
Renters who can't hardwire anything. Anyone setting up a kitchen on a tight budget. People who keep banging their shin on the counter at midnight. Not for anyone wanting warm, ambient lighting for dinner parties.
At this price, the risk is basically zero. Grab both, use one, keep one spare.
